COUNTRY PRESENTATION

Bhutan is not an ordinary place, it has been the most loved country by tourists. Be its colourful culture or enigmatic mountain, the tourist places in Bhutan has always attracted tourists from across the world. The country of rolling hills and charming culture always exudes the charm that cannot be missed.Bhutan is the last remaining great Himalaya Kingdom. Bhutan boasts magnificent mountain scenery, incredible architecture and a colourful cultural heritage.

Bhutan is a diverse, natural Shangri-La, the country offers a staggering variety of landscapes, as well as an incredible array of fauna and flora. Set within one of the world’s most breathtaking mountain chains, it is famed for its high mountain peaks and range of trekking opportunities.

Mysterious and shrouded in myth, Bhutan is filled with tangible examples of its extraordinary culture, from the striking architecture of its mountain forts and monasteries to the images of Buddhist religious figures painted or carved onto the craggy cliffs.

Frayed prayer flags flutter in spectacular mountain passes and prayer wheels turn slowly with the current of clear mountain streams. Grand examples of traditional design and architecture, Bhutan’s famous monasteries and temples, such as the Taktsang Monastery  cling to sheer cliff tops or majestically stand guard in its picturesque towns.

WHY VISIT

Bhutan is perhaps the most fascinating of the Himalayan kingdoms as travel entry was forbidden to visitors until 1974, and even after that numbers were still minimal. Landlocked by the mighty Himalayan peaks, Bhutan has been doubly protected from external influences, and as a result, the traditional way of life has survived largely intact. Tours to Bhutan have something to offer all types of travellers. Whatever the type of vacation, Bhutan is perfect for a luxury tailor made tour, a trekking holiday or a spiritual break. A holiday to Bhutan will guarantee stunning landscapes, gracious hospitality and a glimpse into a lifestyle and culture long forgotten by the modern world.

Our team brings together a formidable and diverse mix of skill sets and experiences, each one is a seasoned traveller along with being a specialist in planning itineraries / trips but above all, they are all passionate about the Indian subcontinent and are eager to learn what it has to offer and they display a keen eye to detailing.  Over the last year we have been viewing trends that revolve around travel that is 'out of the ordinary' or travel experiences that are authentic and connect you to the destination. Me and my team's experience have allowed us access to some exceptional and very passionate individuals from top guide, historians, award winning naturalists, conservationists, royal families, artists, local craftsmen and women who have done some exceptional work for the society.

There are 5 elements that we regard as the Orange strength:

  1. Professionalism, people’s skill, resourcefulness & attention to detailing

  2. Challenge orthodoxies in business and address unarticulated needs of the traveler

  3. Innovation & Flexibility

  4. Passion and

  5. Integrity

Based on the above element we offer a distinguished & curated travel plan for each guest. Whether it is a tailor-made itinerary, a special interest group, business travel, accommodation, airline booking or planning experiences we take change of it end to end to infuse your trip with a unique sense of adventure and unforgettable individuality. We believe we are a part of travel that changes lives. Our green policies of reduced carbon footprint & no use of single plastic, besides our giving back to the community initiative is an honest endeavour to make a small difference. Our practices have already incorporated the usual - no plastic, waste free, reducing carbon footprints etc into our programs but are now more focused toward the societal and economic aspect of supporting the communities and certain less fortunate and privileged segments and wildlife organisations.

WHEN TO VISIT

Winter months from December to the end of February have remarkably stable weather and are mostly bright, clear and crisp – there is no better time to enjoy the views of the Himalayan peaks. There will be snow on the mountain peaks and high passes, and occasionally even in the valleys but as humidity is very low it can feel remarkably warm when sunny.

Spring (March – May) is bright and warm. This is when the landscapes become visibly greener and when the rhododendrons and azaleas come into full bloom. As the temperatures rise, the visibility drops. This is a popular time for colourful festivals (called tshechus) which mostly take place in the fortified monasteries called dzongs. It is also a great time for camping treks.

In summer (June – August) the weather is warm and the landscape is at its greenest, the mountains are dotted with waterfalls and the rivers run full. There are summer rains but these tend to be short and sharp, and frequently accompanied by impressive thunder storms that reverberate through the valleys – one of the reasons why Bhutan is called the Land of the Thunder Dragon.

Autumn (September – November) sees temperatures gradually drop and the rains cease. The weather is mainly mild and the trees start shedding their leaves. Like spring, it’s a great time to attend tshechus and for camping treks.

HOW TO GET THERE

When considering a holiday to Bhutan, you should bear in mind the only direct flights to Paro go via main hubs in India such as Calcutta and Delhi, as well as Bangkok. Can combine India and Bhutan for a longer tour.
